When comparing a biometric attendance machine price in Chennai, start with what the quotation actually supplies. A terminal-only quote and an installed, configured system can have very different scopes even when the model name looks similar.
1. Describe the workplace before choosing the model.
Tell the supplier your staff count, busiest check-in period, shifts and installation location. Compare fingerprint, face recognition and card options around those needs. Ask whether the specific model supports the connection and reporting method you need; Wi-Fi and other interfaces are not universal.
2. Ask for an itemised installed price.
- Exact device model, included power supply and mounting accessories.
- Network or other communication work, cable length assumptions and installation.
- Software name, licence type, user or branch limits and renewal charges.
- Employee enrolment, report configuration, operator training and handover.
- Warranty, service terms and optional annual maintenance.
If a quoted amount excludes tax, delivery, civil work or travel, have those exclusions stated clearly. Do not assume that the lowest device price covers setup or software.
3. Check reporting and payroll compatibility.
Show the supplier the reports you need and the payroll or HRMS software already in use. Agree employee identifiers, shift rules, corrections and the export or integration format. A working attendance terminal does not automatically mean every payroll workflow is connected.
4. Review the handover.
Ask who receives the administrator access, how attendance data is backed up, who approves corrections and whom to contact for a fault. A clear handover helps the team operate the system after installation.
