Vaasal: WhatsApp IN/OUT alerts from your eSSL biometric
Parents, families and managers get a WhatsApp message when someone punches IN or OUT, with late-return alerts, nightly summaries, fees and notices in one web page.
In short: Vaasal is software from Smart Bio Nexus that works with your existing eSSL biometric and eTimeTrackLite. When a student, employee or member punches IN or OUT, Vaasal sends a WhatsApp message to the parent, family member or manager, normally within a minute or two, in English or Tamil.

What Vaasal does
- IN/OUT alerts on WhatsApp to a parent or contact, and a second guardian if recorded, in English or Tamil.
- Who's Out: a live list of people who are outside right now.
- Late and expected-by alerts: after the curfew or expected time, contacts and wardens are told who has not come back.
- Nightly summary to the warden or supervisor: how many left, returned and are still out.
- Fees and dues: records, payments with printed receipts, WhatsApp reminders and payment confirmations, reports and Excel import/export.
- Notices: messages to everyone, one block or department, or selected people, now or at a scheduled time.
- Delivery tracking: each message shows whether WhatsApp delivered it and whether it was read.
- Usage and costs: an estimate of WhatsApp messages and charges.

One setting changes the wording on screen to suit your site. Data, alerts and settings stay the same.

How it works
- The eSSL biometric stores the punch.
- eTimeTrackLite downloads it from the device, as it does today.
- Vaasal reads the punch (it never changes or deletes eTimeTrackLite data) and hands the message to your WhatsApp service provider.
- WhatsApp delivers it to the contact's phone.
Set eTimeTrackLite to download punches in real time, or every 1 to 2 minutes, for quick alerts. Alerts are sent only while the PC, eTimeTrackLite, the devices and the internet are working.
What you need
- eSSL biometric devices with eTimeTrackLite running on a Windows PC. Need devices? See face and fingerprint terminals.
- A WhatsApp Business API account with a WhatsApp service provider, and message templates approved by Meta. We help you set this up.
- The PC kept switched on, with sleep disabled.
Smart Bio Nexus installs and configures Vaasal online, including devices, alert rules and test messages. The licence is installed on your PC.
Charges and responsibilities
The Vaasal licence and installation are quoted by Smart Bio Nexus. WhatsApp message charges, platform fees and taxes are set and billed by the WhatsApp service provider and Meta. You need the consent of the people you message.
Vaasal is an information service, not a safety or emergency system. A late or missing message does not mean someone has, or has not, left or returned. Your own attendance checks, rounds and phone calls remain the way to confirm where someone is.
Common questions
Do we need new biometric devices?
No, if your eSSL devices already work with eTimeTrackLite. Vaasal reads the punches eTimeTrackLite collects.
Is it SMS or WhatsApp?
WhatsApp, through a WhatsApp Business API provider, using message templates approved by Meta.
Can parents get messages in Tamil?
Yes. Each contact can be set to English or Tamil.
How fast do alerts arrive?
Normally within a minute or two when eTimeTrackLite downloads punches in real time. It is not guaranteed: the PC, internet, provider or the phone can delay a message.
Can we use it from other computers or phones?
Yes, after Smart Bio Nexus sets up a secure HTTPS address for your site.
